Amanda Higgins concentrates her practice in the areas of insurance coverage and defense, breach of contract, bad faith, fraud, personal injury, and commercial litigation. Representative clients include national auto insurers and rental car companies. She is licensed to practice law in the state courts of Utah and Massachusetts, and before the United States District Court for District of Massachusetts.
Prior to joining the firm, Amanda served as outside counsel to several auto insurers, and rental car companies. A major portion of her practice also included substantial personal injury matters, medical malpractice, wrongful death claims, and complex civil business litigation. She also represented whistleblowers on a variety of qui tam cases involving major corporate tax evasion, and Medicare fraud. She previously specialized in insurance subrogation, where she honed her skills as a litigator through motion practice, and conducted successful civil trials.
During her previous work for the United Nations, Amanda resided in Cambodia where she assisted in the Khmer Rouge Trials in the Office of the Co-Prosecutors at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia. There she assisted in the prosecution of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes among others. Before the U.N., she also worked as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Nancy Staffier Holtz at Suffolk Superior Court in Boston, MA. She also volunteered at several non-profit legal organizations, including Greater Boston Legal Services and Pine Tree Legal Assistance.
